Porn is a Deadly Law

Porn is a deadly law. It is the demand of a person's soul and dignity for the sake of momentary pleasure. A young boy's curiosity becomes the noose by which the seductress hangs a grown man's life. That red witch called when he was but a child.
"Look here," she whispered, "Come, taste and see that pornography is good," she enticed.
So, forsaking all reality and leaving all goodness behind, he followed. He pursued the witch's lies and found himself trapped--a man in Arachne's web. Like Hansel, he ate of the forbidden dessert and began to hunger for it more.
"Another bite might do. Another video might satisfy. Another click might be enough," he thought to himself.
Little did he know that as he clicked away, eating of his fill, the seductress--that widow--that witch--was having a fill of her own. Having trapped this man and paralyzed him in her web, she began to feast. His imagination was her appetizer; his piety, her entree; and his life, her dessert. Meanwhile he just clicked away.
Porn leaves a boy despising the world and hating others. He no longer views others as immortal glories or horrors--only as objects to be used. God becomes small and insignificant. Redemption becomes useless. He only sees the world through scarlett lenses as he marches his way towards hellfire. He cannot love, for any love that used to be there--the affection he had for his parents, his siblings, and his friends--has all been drained from his soul as a meal for the seductress. Now, he stands as an empty, lifeless, and fearfull shell--a puppet of that red witch.
I ask you. What can free a man from this law? What hope is there for him. He stands under the weight and consequences of his own folly. Therefore, his folly cannot rescue him. Maybe a little amputation may seem to work. Cut off his hands, tear out his tongue, and gouge out his eyes. Still, he is as lifeless as a puppet-corpse could be. What good does amputation do to the dead? Give a little word of consolation, perhaps? Still, arguing that his patterns and habits of pornographic titillation is caused by his tragic backstory will not do anything for this man's lifeless soul.
Ah! And that, my friend, is the only hope for him. He must be given life! His heart, mind, and soul must be regenerated and renewed. He must be given a new heart, one that breathes and sees the world anew. The deadly law of pornography must be replaced with the lifegiving law of grace--one in which he is free to be himself and in which he is free to imagine again.
And who, dear friend, is able to give this man a new life and a new heart? Who can give him a greater affection than the lust he had for porn? It is God alone who can do the impossible of making a dead man live by the power of his Holy Spirit. As a river breaks through a dam to replenish a dry valley so does the Spirit of God break through a sinner's hard heart to create new life. A deeper love is now experienced. Imagination is set free to run the plains of God's wisdom. Scarlett sight becomes clear and is filled with color. That man is now free to love as he was created to love.
The seductress, his old mistress, still calls to him. He feels the pull at times towards her. But, when he drinks of the rivers of God's grace and grandeur, he sees that seductress for who she really is--a frail old hag who will eventually decay into oblivion.
Over that witch's voice, he hears another woman's call. This voice is sweeter and clearer, one far more precious than silver. In earlier times, this voice seemed like an egregious and foolish sound. But now, her voice is one of gold. He hears the voice of wisdom. Turning towards her, he sees her, the one with whom the Lord established the worlds. She calls to him for him to pursue her.
The deadly law of porn is long forgotten as a man runs to embrace wisdom. As he embraces her, he realizes just who she is. Her face becomes masculine. Her wrists show forth holes formed by nails. A scar grows on her side. This figure now whispers, "Come, I will give you rest."
To embrace wisdom is to embrace the wisdom of God himself, Jesus Christ. It is in his arms that a man finds freedom from the seductress. It is inn his gaze that we begin to fear the Lord and abhor the porn that we loved so much. It is in his presence that we find joy forevermore.
